Labor activism
There were challenges workers faced during the Industrial Revolution. Men, women, and children were expected to work 14 hours a day, in a crowded, noisy, polluted, and dangerous work environment. The Luddites was a group of labor activist who used violence to spread their message, and the Labor Unions were a group of workers in an industry or workplace who joined together to protect their rights and improve working conditions. The advantages for the workers were that they could go on strikes until their demands are recognized and addressed by their employers. The disadvantages were that the managers had to follow the employer's recommendation in order for their company to go on. The result of Labor activism was that there was a more reasonable pay and working hours. And a more secure work environment was established.
